Karnataka TET 2019-20: The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test or Karnataka TET or KARTET exam is conducted by the School Education Board of Karnataka. Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2019 has been postponed due to the lockdown imposed by the central government in view of preventing the spread of novel coronavirus. The Karnataka education minister S. Suresh Kumar tweeted on Thursday to announce the postponement of exam. The admit card for the exam has already been released on March 9 at schooleducation.kar.nic.in. Earlier, the Karnataka TET exam was scheduled to be held on April 11, 2020, which has now been postponed. The new date will be announced later.

Which confirmed Karnataka Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar. “The teacher eligibility test scheduled on April 11 has been postponed due to lockdown. The fresh date will be announced later,” said S. Suresh Kumar in his tweet. The online application process for Karnataka TET commenced on 25th January 2020 to 25th February 2020. Candidates who have applied for Karnataka TET are advised to visit the official website schooleducation.kar.nic.in regularly to get the latest updates on the exam. The Paper I is conducted to certify to teach from Class I to Class V and Paper II is for Class VI to VIII.

Karnataka TET 2019-20 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification for Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)
Educational Qualification for Upper Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)
  1. The minimum qualification required for the Primary Teachers is Intermediate (Class 12) with 50% marks (45% for categories).
  2. Candidates must have passed Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education with at least 45 – 50% of marks.
  3. Candidates pursuing final-year EIEd/ Bachelor of Elementary Education also eligible to apply for Karnataka TET 2019.
  1. The minimum qualification required for Upper Primary Teachers is (A/ Sc/ Com/ Tech/ BBA etc.,) with at least 45% – 50% of qualifying marks.
  2. The candidates must have passed Diploma in Elementary Education (EIEd/ Bachelor of Education (Ed) to be eligible for the post of Upper Primary Teacher.
  3. Candidates pursuing final-year EIEd/ Ed are also eligible to appear for Karnataka TET 2019.
